Pitchfork '09 Wrap-Up

As most of you know, every year Saving Shelter Pets has a nonprofit booth at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. We normally only attend Saturday & Sunday, but this year we braved the cold on Friday night for our first 3-day festival weekend. Despite the not-so-July weather, the weekend was a lot of fun and definitely another success for our rescue group.

Located between the main concert stages and the beer tent, our booth was in a prime location to attract visitors.... and Miss Bojangles, the terrier/chihuahua mix, definitely did her job in reeling in all the animal lovers! We had the opportunity to meet and chat with some wonderful people --and even recruited a few new volunteers in the process. Over the 3-day weekend, we were able to raise $358 in donations towards our rescue efforts! :)

Depending on the number of volunteers who attended the festival for our group, we will also receive anywhere between a $500 and $1,000 donation from the Pitchfork festival. As always, a HUGE thank you to everyone who volunteered this year! We couldn't do this festival year after year without you!! :)

About Saving Shelter Pets:
Saving Shelter Pets (SSP) strives to eliminate euthanasia as a method of population control for homeless companion animals, by providing no-kill alternative solutions and pro-actively addressing the problem of pet overpopulation.

SSP is a nonprofit,
501(c)(3) organization with supporters nationwide. Please see our FAQs for more information.

NOTE: The animals pictured in this or any other message are NOT available for adoption. We do not have the resources to properly screen adoptive homes. We send our dogs and cats to pre-approved no-kill rescues in the Northeast, and these rescues will then adopt them into wonderful forever homes.
