March transport & why our supporters are the best!

WOW!!! As I sorted through all our emails this morning, I was overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters and the number of overnight donations we received for our March transport. Just 10 hours ago, we were still about $500 short of covering all our vet & transport bills. Thanks to our Facebook friends, blog subscribers, and other supporters we raised all but $44 needed to cover our bills. From all of us here at Saving Shelter Pets, I cannot thank everyone enough for being an angel to these animals!

The transport has arrived to the northeast and all dogs are doing well. Five of the husky/shepherd pups already have adoption applications in, and hopefully one of our Facebook friends, Mike, will get to adopt the black & white lab mix puppy he fell in love with through our blog!

From William, Ruthie, Sally Ann, and all the other dogs on this month's transport, thank you again from the bottom of their hearts!!

March Madness: preparing for transport #89!

Hi Everyone! The weather is warming up, the days are getting longer...and you know what that means.... PUPPY SEASON! That's right, shelters are filling up with precious pups and often with their parents (here's the perfect place for a reminder to SPAY and NEUTER those pets!)

Here we have several litters and adults that are hoping to avoid the dangers of animal control and get their chance at living the lives of cherished companions. Can you help these furry travelers on their way to new beginnings this spring?

We have a wonderful group of rescues in the Northeast willing to place these dogs into forever homes. We just need a little help with sponsorships. As always, thank you for your commitment to helping homeless dogs!

Litter of 5 Lab Mix Pups

This litter of lab mixes is part of our Puppy Promises program. Not only will they avoid the fate of an animal shelter, but their momma will also be spayed to prevent future litters! Each pup needs $60 to cover their puppy shots, deworming, health certificate, and transport to a rescue in the Northeast.

Total Needed: $300
Raised so far: $300 Fully Sponsored! Thank you!

Litter of 7 Husky/Shepherd Pups

These tiny babies won't be tiny for long! They'd love to grow big and fluffy with their new families up North. Each pup needs $50 to cover their shots, deworming, health certificate, and the spay of their momma and all other unfixed pets in their household (our favorite part of the Puppy Promises program!)

Total Needed: $350
Raised so far: $350 Fully Sponsored! Thank you!!

RUTHIE

Ruthie's puppies were signed up for our Puppy Promises program, and unfortunately, her owner didn't want her either. This gorgeous girl deserves a loving home, and we are determined to find her one in the Northeast! She just needs sponsorship funds to cover her shots, deworming, spay surgery, health certificate, and transport.

Total Needed: $250
Raised so far: $250 Fully Sponsored!! Thank you!

Litter of 3 Chihuahua Mix Pups

These little pups are also part of our Puppy Promises program. Sadly, one of the male pups had an umbilical hernia which required surgery. He has recovered fully and is doing great! Due to this additional unexpected vet bill, this litter needs a total of $300 in sponsorship to cover all their costs.

Total Needed: $300
Raised so far: $300 Fully Sponsored!! Thank you!!

BB and Tori

Meet "BB" and "Tori" -- proud parents to the chihuahua pups picture above! Unfortunately, when their owners surrendered the puppies, they surrendered momma & poppa too. We couldn't leave them behind so we found a rescue in the Northeast willing to take the entire family. All they need is help with their sponsorship to cover their shots, deworming, spay & neuter surgeries, health certificate, and transport from Georgia to New York. Please consider donating to help this family on their way to a new life!

Total Needed: $450
Raised so far: $312
Still Needed: $138

Litter of 7 Border Collie Mix Pups

A shelter is no place for these tiny pups. At just 7 weeks old, they need a warm loving home to call their own! Please won't you donate to help us save them? Each pup needs just $50 to cover puppy shots, deworming, health certificate, and transport to their rescue in the Northeast.

Total Needed: $350
Raised so far: $50
Still Needed: $300

SALLY ANN

Sally Ann is the momma to the puppies pictured above. This gorgeous border collie would love to join her babies on the van to the Northeast. Please consider donating a few bucks towards her sponsorship so we can spay this momma and send her on her way!

Total Needed: $250
FULLY SPONSORED - THANK YOU! :)

SPOT

Spot would love to find a new home where he is loved. Please won't you help us rescue this adorable jack russell mix? He is already neutered so just needs $150 to cover the rest of his vetting & transport costs.

Total Needed: $150
Raised so far: $50
Still Needed: $100

Litter of 2 huge pups!

These 2 goliath sisters were signed up to our Puppy Promises program. They are 4 months old, about 30 pounds each, and growing quickly! We would love to get these beautiful girls out of Georgia while they're still young and easily adoptable to their new forever homes in the Northeast. Each girl needs $75 to cover shots, health certificates, and transport. (Thankfully they've both already been spayed – yay!!)

Total Needed: $150
FULLY SPONSORED - THANK YOU! :)

WILLIAM

William was brought into a local vet clinic after he fell off his family's 2 story balcony as a puppy and broke several of his toes. The family didn't want to pay his bill and told the vet to euthanize him, but the vets decided to keep him. He healed well, but has been stuck either in a small cage or cold concrete run since the summer and has grown up in boarding. He is super excited to move to the Northeast where he will soon find his new forever home! He is already vetted and neutered so just needs a little help to cover his health certificate & transport costs.

Total Needed: $75
FULLY SPONSORED - THANK YOU! :)
